4Com, a leading provider of business telephone systems, has announced the successful acquisition of part of the business telecoms customer base of Fairfield Telecommunications Limited, commonly known as Fairfield Telecom. The acquisition is the 7th deal in just 15 months for the Bournemouth-based telecoms company. Established in 2016, Fairfield Telecom are a Kent-based telecommunications company providing business telephony solutions throughout the UK.
The acquisition of Fairfield follows the purchase of Midshire Telecom, Eastern Voice and Data, Reach Digital Telecoms, Southern Business Communications and the telecoms customer bases of both Bluebell Cloud Solutions and Meridian IT Communications. As with the Bluebell and Meridian acquisitions, this latest deal will see 4Com purchase the customer-base only, with Fairfield Telecom itself continuing to trade.
Gary Scutt, 4Com’s Chief Executive Officer, explained, “We are delighted to complete this asset purchase with Fairfield Telecom. As our business continues to grow, we are constantly seeking new opportunities to further our expansion. This latest acquisition will complement this growth strategy well and we look forward to welcoming the Fairfield customers to the 4Com family.”
Matthew Thomas, Fairfield Telecom’s Director, said, “This deal will help us generate additional funds to re-invest into our business. We’ve appreciated 4Com’s approach throughout this process; they’ve been upfront and honest with us, and the deal has gone smoothly throughout. We are confident that our customers are in good hands, and we’re looking forward to what the future holds for us thanks to the funds this sale creates.”
Haydn Neville, Acquisition Consultant at 4Com, added, “It’s been a pleasure working with Matthew and his team at Fairfield. Both parties have been clear on what they were looking for from the outset, which has helped ensure the swift completion of this deal. I’m keen to speak with any other businesses who are considering their future and would like to explore whether transactions such as these are a viable option.”
Dean Cartledge, 4Com’s Chief Operating Officer, said, “We are absolutely thrilled with our third customer-base acquisition and pleased with how smoothly the transition has gone. We understand the difficult decisions that come with selling parts, or the entirety, of your company and the amount of hard work that is required with an acquisition. I would like to thank the amazing teams both at Fairfield and 4Com for their help in making it possible to complete this deal and create a smooth transfer of customers.”
Gary added, “These are exciting times for all of us here at 4Com and we look forward to all future opportunities. I’d like to remind any businesses that are looking to sell their business or customer base to get in touch.”
